JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the organization’s staff responsible for supporting the in-house accounting & Finance functions. Reporting to the CFO, this multi-task position is responsible for accurate and timely completion of financial reporting, bookkeeping, administration of accounts receivable, accounts payable, construction job costing, and other related business records for the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurate, timely and thorough maintenance of general ledger and generation of financial statements, reconciliation of accounts, and support of annual audit.
  • Ensure timely and accurate accounts receivable including billing, monitoring automatic payments, posting cash deposits, and customer service to clients/vendors.
  • Ensure timely and accurate accounts payable including entering invoices and generating checks for signature, printing and sending 1099’s at year end.
  • Supporting the month-end closing process.
  • Assist leadership in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Other duties as assigned to support daily business needs.

CONSTRUCTION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (EXPERIENCE PREFERRED)

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to support operations and maintain construction project budgets.
  • Properly maintain vendor COI/W9 records.
  • Collaborate with project team to facilitate lien waivers and NTO process.
  • Generate invoices and pay applications for clients and vendors/subcontractors.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in Construction, Engineering or a similar field preferred.
  • 3-5 years related accounting experience—General Ledger, A/R, A/P, budgeting, and job costing.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Demonstrated experience with accounting systems and controls, and financial reporting and analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite including Excel. MS Project experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP Systems or Accounting Software. Sage 100 experience preferred.
  • Proven attention to detail. Ability to anticipate and solve problems. Ability to juggle multiple priorities and multi-task.
  • Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner
